We will depart Fri evening 12/3 from Benjamin Stoddert Middle School at either 4pm or 7pm.
Your child must be dropped off at one of the above times at stay with the team and our chaperones until the competition the next day.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHICH TIME YOUR CHILD WILL BE DROPPED OFF so that we can finalize the driving arrangements.
Gilrs shoul pack a sleeping bag, pjs, their COMPLETE uniform (vest, skirt, midriff, bloomers, socks, shoes, bow) and warm ups. I will text our room numbers once we have checked in. Other parents may follow us there or meet us at the competition later.

Hairstyle:part on the left- an angled French Braid at the front that goes to a high ponytail.


Girls will stay at the hotel below along with 1-2 chaperones per room (those costs will be paid for). The hotel rate is $59.00 per night if family and friends are interested in staying there as well.

Slumber Party, Practice, HAIR and Competition Info

Slumber Party 8pm-12noon 10744 Castleton Way Upper Marlboro, MD 20774From 495 exit 15A (Central Ave/214 towards six flags) Take 214 to the light and make right on Campus Way. Make a left on Joyceton (across from Lowes, Petsmart etc) and come down 3 speed bumps to make a right on Castleton Drive. First right at Castleton Way (second townhouse from the corner).

Fundraiser: The money for the Claire's fundraiser is due tomorrow. Please submit when you pick up your girl, or make arrangements with me if you have sold items.

Practice Schedule: practices are the same as listed on your calendar (Mon-Sat, 11/1-11/6) with one possible exception (we do not have a location as of now for Tuesday's practice because its election day and it is also going to rain). For now, still plan on the girls practicing everyday next week (but Tuesday may be cancelled due to not having a place to practice).


Competition Info: We are meeting at the Burger King in Marlow Heights at 8am!! Please be on time because that is where we pass out bows, socks, apply make-up, tattoos, etc... We will leave as a group to the University of MD Cole Fieldhouse. Girls will wear their hair half up/half down (ponytail on top, down in back) with curls (even locks or braids/twists must be curled).

For longer hair/braids: spiral curls all over. For shorter hair, a looser curl is fine but spirals are preffered.

Gates open at 10:00 am for Spectators (in case your guests want to get there early to save seats). Cost - $10.00 per person (13 years and older)Spectators MUST enter at the Main (South) entrance. No Video recording equipment will be allowed. Professional recordings of the competition will be available for purchase. Parents/Spectators will NOT be allowed on the floor during the competition

Important Things to Remember

Competition Registration Fees: I know this has been a tough time economically for all and we have done our best to keep the prices as low as possible for the things the girls need to be a successful competitive cheerleading squad. Many of you have missed the $64 deadline which was last Thursday. Again, I know times are tough, but we need at least $35 of that $64 as soon as possible. Those fees pay for upcoming competition registration and your child can not be registered without paying the registration fee.


PG Skills and Safety Clinic: This safety clinic is madatory for EVERY girl. It is mandated by PG County that each team participating in the County Competition attend to show their routine to be critiqued by the judges and to ensure are stunts are safe and legal. We do not know our show time yet and will be able to give you a more accurate end time soon. We will all meet at 11:30am, however to warm up and practice. Girls will wear their red shorts under their warm ups (we will provide t-shirts). Please bring lunch for your girls or give them money for food.

Team Photos and cheer practice - Saturday, October 23, 2010 We will take a team photo Sat, 10/23 at Benjamin Stoddert Middle School @ 9:30 am. Girls are to wear their uniforms with midriffs, white ankle socks, white sneakers, and high ponytails with bows. Order forms will be available at practice.
We will then have practice until 1 pm. Please make sure your child eats breakfast before coming for photos.
FYI, if for whatever reason you arent able to order pics at this time, most of our competition we will take team photos as well that will be for sale along with pics taken throughout the routine and videos.


Team Sleepover-We will have a sleepover Friday 10/29 from 8:00pm to Saturday 10/30 12:00pm. Location to be detereminded (probably my house lol).


Everyday Practice: The first competition is just around the corner so it is crunch time! Please note that there is practice everyday the first week of November, NO EXCEPTIONS! My number is 323-445-2805 and I will arrange for ANYONE who needs a ride if you let me know in advanced because attendance is soooo crucial at this point. Please remember that if just ONE person is missing, the entire team can not perform certain stunts, and we need all the practice we can get! =)

Saturday's Game 10/16

This Saturday's game will be held at North Barnaby Field and we will be meeting at 11:30.

Girls will wear their uniforms, with midriffs; white ankle socks; white shoes; high ponytails with hair bows; and their warm ups on top. They will not cheer in the warm ups as it wont be that cold, but should wear them to and from the game.

I want to appologize for the confusion with the last few games. We were not given an update game schedule and even the official PG Boys and Girls Website had outdated schedules posted. So, I was told directly from the football commissioner that this Saturday's game (10/16) will be at N Barnaby Field and we will need to meet at 11:30. I have updated the cheer calendar with this information and will print them out for practice. Payments Due and Medical Waivers

Some people still need to make payments. A few parents asked what all of the payments were for so I did want to explain the breakdown.

-The initial $110 payment that was due August 31st covered (snack fees, warm ups, cheer bag, cheer shoes, and one week of tumbling). Some people still owe some portion of this but everyone has submitted the money for their warm ups!! yay =) -For those of you that still have a balance from before, please make the payment of at least $20 for the shoes which will be ordered this weekend).
-The $64 due 10/7 will cover upcoming competition fees and banquet fees. Competition deadlines are fast approaching and we can not register your child without a payment. If you can not make the entire payment, please submit at least $35 for the competitions with the closest deadlines as soon as possible. **If you received cabaret tickets, please turn in money or unsold tickets to our team mom, Kara at Homecoming.

Homecoming, Saturday October 9th

**Homecoming is this Saturday at PG Sports Park. -We will be meeting at 8:30 am and will cheer the 9:00 am and 11:30 am games. We should be done around 12:30/12:45 but we encourage people to stick around support the other teams because it is our homecoming.

This Weeks News- 10/6

Mandatory Parent Meeting: Thursday, 10/7- Parents, the make up date for the Mandatory Parent Meeting is Tomorrow, Thursday 10/7 at 6:30pm at Stoddert Middle School. It is imperative that a parent or adult representative from each child's family be present. Due to events that have happened with parents at football games and other club events, each parent must sign a conduct letter. If you are unable to attend, please let me know ASAP and we will figure out a way to make it happen. I am willing to give rides to and from Stoddert on that day, FYI.


Money Due: The final payment of the year (besides tumbling for this month) is due this Thursday, 10/7 which is $64. These fees will cover the girl's registration to the upcoming competitions. If you are unable to make the payment in full, $35 is the cost of the registration for the competitions with the closest deadlines.
Also, some of you still owe the $20 for shoes. Please get that money in as soon as possible as well because we need to place the shoe order immediately.

Petition for Home Games and Homecoming- There is a petition being passed around that we are asking all of the parents to sign so that we can get our home games back (they are currently all scheduled for PG Sports Park) and also to be able to hold our annual homecoming festivities. Please stop by our practice when you drop off or pick up your child to sign it.

From the Capital Beltway:-Take exit 15B (stay to left of exit ramp--come to light to merge onto Central Ave (MD 214). -Go to second traffic light (Ritchie Road) and turn left.-Go to second traffic light (Ritchie Drive) and turn left again. (you will see the county recycling center on the left as you turn)-Proceed straight until you see the school.

Girls are to wear their uniforms to the game with white ankle socks, white sneakers, and their hair bows. We will pass out their midriffs either tonight if you come to the meeting or tomorrow at the field.

Mandatory Meeting

There is a mandatory meeting tonight at Benjamin Stoddert at 630pm. I did want to clarify that your child will not be "kicked out" if you don't attend. The meeting is, however, extremely important and there will be a make-up meeting next Thursday at 6:30pm. The purpose is to talk about parent conduct because of a few previous incidents involving both cheerleader and football parents that led to serious problems for the club. It is necessary that each parent be present for the meeting and sign a conduct letter. Any adult family member can sign this contract at one of the two scheduled meetings (tonight or next Thurs @ 6:30). Please let me know if you can't make either.

New Practice Days and Locations

Beginning Monday, October 4th (not next week but the FIRST WEEK IN OCTOBER) our practice days will change to MON, WED, and THURS.

Saturday's Game 9/25

We will be playing New Carrollton this Saturday, 9/25/10. The meet time is 11am at Beckett Field.

Girls will wear their uniforms, with white ankle socks, white sneakers, and RED bloomers. Hair is to be worn in a high ponytail with their bows.

Upcoming Events

Bake Sale Fundraiser- The Ministars have planned to have a bake sale every Saturday to raise money specifically for the cheerleaders fees. Only parents who contribute will receive a cut of the proceeds. If you need help paying for your child's warm-ups, shoes, comp fees, etc or would like to donate something...you may want to join in. Contact their Team Mom, Ro at 301-768-5324 if you are interested.

Homecoming PepRally and Family Fun day: The Pep Rally is Sunday, October 3rd from 1-6 pm at North Barnaby field. We have tumbling practice (which is mandatory) that day at 6 pm therefore it is up to you whether you would like to attend. This will serve as a fundraiser for the club and lots of fun games and activities have been planned.

Homecoming Game:
Homecoming is Saturday, October 9th. We will be meeting @ 8:30 at North Barnaby field and cheering TWO games that day. Please come out to support the girls and invite friends and family as they will be performing a new dance and cheer for halftime.

Cheer Cabaret

We will be hosting our annual Cabaret on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Upscale Ballroom. We are ASKING that each family try to sell 3 tickets. This is one of the FUNDRAISERS we have planned for Silver Hill. The tickets are $15 each. $20 at the door. So, if you and your significant other are coming (and I hope you do), then you will only have 1 ticket to sell. I have the tickets in my possession and will be distributing at next week's practice. All tickets handed out must be accounted for by number. If a parent does not sell a ticket it must be turned in or the parent is responsible for paying for it.

Money Due and Joe Corbis Delivery

Parents, there are still a few of you who have not made payments for your girl's sweatsuit. We are placing the orders in a few days and anyone who does not have a sweatsuit will not be able to cheer those games when the team will wear them. It is important to at least get the $55 payment in as soon as possible. Also, if you would like their sweat suit personalized, it is an additional $8 due by tomorrow.

For those of you that have made partial payments, please try to pay the remaining balance of the $110 as soon as you can. We will also be ordering their cheer bags, and competition shoes from those funds so we will need those funds soon as well.


The last payment for the year, $64 has been pushed back and is now due Oct 7th. This is an important deadline because those funds help pay for competition registration so please be prepared for that or let us know if there is a problem.

Also, there is one more month left for tumbling. Remember payments are to be made in advanced on Thursday's practice or Saturday's game.

JOE CORBIS DELIVERY will be made Wednesday Seotember 29th at Stoddert Middle School. Please pick up your orders between 6:30-8:00pm. The items must be refrigerated and the coaches will not take anything home so please remember to pick up your items. =)

Saturday 9/18 Game

Girls are the wear their uniforms with white ankle socks and white sneakers.

PLEASE NOTE THEY MUST GET THEIR OWN BLOOMERS (Lolipops) for the games. Red Bloomers only please!

Please make sure your girl has her hair bow from last week as well.

Hair will be worn in high pony-tails and no colorful nail polish or jewelry may be worn.


MONEY DUE- The $110 due at the end of August is now past due for many of you. We will need to have at least the money for their sweat suits and bags ($64) by the end of the week so that we may get orders in on time for the cold weather games.If you have not already done so, please send me your child's sweat suit size (jacket and pants).Please note that if you would like to have their name embroidered on the jacket (you can pay an additional $8).Parents may also order sweat suits or T-shirts ...please let me know if you are interested.

TUMBLING- Just a reminder that tumbling money is due every week (unless paid monthly) either at Thursday practice or Saturday's game. Tumbling is MANDATORY and must be paid in advance. Girls must be ontime to tumbling and ready to work, or they will not be allowed to practice with no refund.

PRACTICE LOCATION-Until further notice practice will be held at Benjamin Stoddert Middle School. We are still unable to get into Shuggart, we will let you know when we are able to do so.

Snack Money: Even if you do not have the total $100 please pay your snack fees by this Thursday at the Blue House between 6-8:30. The girls will need snacks for the upcoming games.

Money Due:
It is important that everyone gets their money in because we must order the warm ups as soon as possible so that the girls can have them in time for cold games.
The $110 will cover the child's warm-up, cheer bag, banquet and snack fees. Because everyone already bought red shorts for the games, we will take that off of the price and Silver Hill BGC will donate the practice shirts. A week of tumbling will be paid out of each girl's money if the entire $110 was submitted. Please let me or Coach Moo Moo know if you have any questions or issues, we will work with you if needed.

Joe Corbis Fundraiser

The Joe Corbis Fundraiser ends next Tuesday, August 31st 2010.

**PARENTS PLEASE ARRANGE FOR PICK UP OF YOUR ORDERS DURING PRACTICE TUESDAY 9/14 AS MANY ITEMS WILL NEED TO BE REFRIGERATED AND COACHES WILL NOT TAKE THEM HOME**

**Girls that sell more than 11 items will receive a free Chocolate Chunk Award. Make sure turn in the Free Ticket and that Silver Hill Bears and the # of items sold are filled out completely.**

· Each order sold will make you $5. To earn enough for the $110 payment (for warm ups, practice uniform, duffle bag, snack fee, etc due 8/31), 22 items must be sold.

· 35 items must be sold to cover all the fees due for the year ($110 for warm ups, practice uniform, duffle bag, snack fee, etc due 8/31 plus the $64 dollars for competition shoes and registration fees due 9/23)

· Any additional balance will be returned to the parent, unless they want to put it towards the cost of tumbling classes.

Tumbling Information

We will begin tumbling classes the 1st Sundau of September (9/5) for a total of 8 weeks.


  • Classes will be every Sunday @ 6:oo pm
  • Capital Allstars Gym (8035 Penn Randall Place Upper Marlboro, MD)

  • The cost will be $15 per week/class

  • You can pay one week at a time ($15) every Thurs starting 8/26 or for the entire month at once ($60 on 8/26 and 9/23)

Tumbling Rules:


  • Every class is mandatory·

  • Payments are to be given to the coach in advance·

  • If a cheerleader forfeits a class, there is no refund or makeup class·

  • There must be at least 80% of the class in attendance·

  • Girls will be turned away if more than 15 minutes late.

  • No disrepectful behavior will be tolerated.

From August 31st to Sept 9, practice will be held at Benjamin Stoddert Middle School

(2501 Olson Street, Temple Hills, MD ) in the gym from 6:00-8:00
> Starting September 14th, practices will be 3 days a week Tues, Wed, and Thurs and will

be held at Shuggart Middle School (2000 Callaway Street, Temple Hills, MD 20748) in the

gym from 6:00-8:00.



2. Parents Meeting:

The MANDATORY parents meeting will be held TUESDAY August 31s at 7:30pm Benjamin Stoddert Middle School
